2025 Annual Meeting and Conference

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) invites you to join us for the 2025 Canadian Association of Geographers – Ontario Division (CAGONT) Annual Meeting and Conference.
The conference will be held on Friday November 14 and Saturday November 15, 2025 at TMU’s downtown Toronto campus. We invite you join us to share your research, network with colleagues, and celebrate the half-century milestone for our GA program.
Abstract submission is now open. You can submit your abstracts here. The deadline for submitting abstracts is Friday October 31, 2025.
There are three session types:

papers (i.e., 15-minute presentations)

thesis proposals (i.e., for early stage research for undergraduate and graduate students)

posters

Opening Event – 5pm to 8pm (POD358)

5pm to 6pm: Opening Reception + Registration (refreshments will be served)

November 15, 2025
Sessions will run from 9am to 5pm. The CAGONT AGM will be at held at 1pm on Saturday. Refreshments (throughout the day) and lunch (at 1230pm) is available to all conference participants.
How to get to the conference: The conference is being held in Jorgenson Hall (JOR) and the Podium Building (POD) on the TMU Campus. You will enter through Jorgenson Hall which is connected to the Podium Building. Please note: all buildings on campus require a card to access, so this is the best way to enter the venue.
The best street address to use to get to Jorgenson Hall’s main entrance is 380 Victoria St, Toronto, ON M5B 0A1. The entrance is located near the north end of the Nelson Mandela walkway (near Gerrard St). There will be volunteers at the main entrance to let you into the building and help you get to the third floor where the conference is taking place.
For those travelling, the closest subway stops to TMU's campus are Dundas and College Park on Line 1 (Yonge). There are also a number of parking lots nearby - primarily just off Dundas St.

Students, Postdocs, Retirees, K-12 Teachers, and Individuals earning < $40,000 gross:
CAG-ACG Members: $35.00
Non-Members: $50.00
Faculty and Community Members
CAG-ACG Members: $50.00
Non-Members: $75.00
The deadline for registration is November 1, 2024.

Students and Postdocs who are CAG-ACG Members can apply for support to help offset some of the costs of registration and travel. This includes those You can apply for support here.
